Italy’s De Agostini Editore plans to launch a new TV channel named Alpha this autumn.
According to Engage, it will target a male audience and be offered free of charge as a DTT service.
It adds that the advertising campaign for the channel will be undertaken by Viacom International Media Networks Advertising and Brand Solutions, which is headed by Paolo Romano and already responsible for advertising on the DTT channel Super!
De Agostini Editore’s portfolio of channels includes the satellite-delivered services DeAKids and DeAJunior, along with the time-shifted DeAKids+1.
Super! which offers entertainment programming and targets kids, is distributed both terrestrially and via satellite. This will be the second time De Agostini Editore has launched a channel aimed at male viewers.
On the first occasion, the service, which was distributed by Sky and initially known as Dea Sapere before being renamed Explora, closed in November 2016.
