The consumer protection division of the workers’ council of Upper Austria has threatened taking legal action against HD Austria, the subscription platform for Austrian DTH households on Astra (19.2° East) operated by M7 Group.
The complaints about HD Austria increase, the consumer protectors said in a statement, for example the company would not confirm contract withdrawals and continue to deduct subscription fees from customers’ bank accounts. This practise is not correct, criticises the council and calls for affected people to contact its consumer protection department.
HD Austria would not only ignore contract cancellations, but often also not react to consumer complaints at all, according to the council, adding that even its own intervention letters remained unanswered.
The attempt to get in contact with M7’s headquarters in Luxembourg also remained without success, said the council, adding that it will consider taking legal action if no out-of-court solutions can be reached for the affected customers.
