The idea of cord cutting is waning in Poland, with under a quarter (23%) of pay-TV subscribers now favouring such an option.
This, according to the findings of MEC’s Projekt Cyfrowizja lll, compares to 27% in 2015 and 30% in 2014.
At the same time, there has been little change in the interest in moving up to pay-TV by DTT viewers, with 19% favouring such an option this year, compared with 15% in 2015 and 20% in 2014.
Significantly, the main reasons given by pay-TV subscribers favouring cord cutting is price (42%), followed by lack of interesting channels (29%) and increasingly interest offer of DTT (23%).
At the same time, DTT viewers considering moving pay-TV cited insufficient number of channels (38%), uninteresting DTT offer (33%) and the attractive offers of pay-TV services (20%) as the main reasons.
