Hungary is unlikely to almost double its ad tax to 9% next year.
Indeed, quoted by BBJ, Lajos Kósa, the parliamentary group leader of the governing Fidesz party, said that it may even reduce the tax rate from the current 5.3%.
Hungary introduced a controversial progressive tax, with rates ranging from 0% to 50%, in June 2014.
Widely believed to have targeted the leading national commercial broadcaster RTL Klub, which was seen as opposing the Fidesz-led government, it was strongly criticised, including by the European Commission, and has since been scrapped.
