Ukraine’s National Council is considering a temporary suspension of the retransmission of TV1000 Russian Kino in the country.
In a statement, it says that it has appealed to the Viasat channel, which is registered in Sweden, to comply with the requirements of Ukrainian legislation.
It adds that it found violations of the legislation relating to the appearance of actors in its output that pose a threat to national security.
All foreign channels distributed in Ukraine are required to comply with both Ukrainian legislation and the European Convention on Transfrontier Television.
