Orange has allocated €193 million for the deployment of fibre-optic and 4G networks in the Castilla y León region of northwestern Spain.
According to the company, it forms part of a larger national plan for which the company has earmarked over €3 billion.
Orange adds that it will allocated an additional €27 million between 2017 and 2018 to bring 4G to the majority of the Castilian population and fibre to 585,000 homes in the region.
Furthermore, technological innovation has already seen it spend a cumulative €380 million in Castilla y León up until the end of 2016.
As a result of the €85 million it invested in fibre in the region in 2016, 513,000 homes and businesses are already covered by fibre.
