Russia’s TV ad market is set to grow by 7% to R146 billion (€2.1 billion) this year.
However, reports Kommersant, quoting a presentation provided by GroupM at the MEC conference, by next year it will only return to the pre-crisis level of 2014.
The ad market as a whole should grow by 9.5% this year, followed by 9.9% in 2017, with the main drivers being contextual, mobile and online video advertising.
TV advertsting in 2017 should reach R157 billion, up 8% on this year’s total.
Despite the strong performance of online advertsing, it is only expected to overtake TV in 2010, when their respective shares of the total market will be 42% and 40%.
