Ukraine’s National Council of Television and Radio Broadcasting has added three more Russian channels to the list of those banned in the country.
In a meeting on Thursday, September 29, it deemed that the content of all three – Comedy TV, Nash Futbol and Karusel – failed to meet the requirements of the European Convention on Transfrontier Television.
Furthermore, in the case of Comedy TV, the channel had been off air since September 2015, while Nash Futbol carried advertising that violated Ukrainian law.
Karusel also violated the same law, as well as depicted Crimea as part of Russia.
This, too, ran counter to Ukrainian law.
