Two leading executives have stepped down from their positions at Türk Telekom.
According to Hurriyet, this follows their summoning by prosecutors to give testimony in connection with the July 15 failed coup attempt in Turkey.
It adds that both Erkan Akdemir, CEO of the company’s consumer business unit, and Coskun Sahin, VP responsible for technology, decided to leave.
In the case of Akdemir, is position has been removed and all units tied directly to it passed over to Rami Aslan, the company’s CEO.
Meanwhile, Sahin’s duties and responsibilities are also be undertaken by Aslan until a replacement is appointed.
Hurriyet also says that Türk Telekom, which is 30% state owned, has to date sacked 290 people being investigated in connection with the coup attempt.
