The Russian DTH platform NTV-Plus says it will complete its transition to MPEG-4 this summer.
The process will be implemented in stages, starting on March 3 and finishing on June 25.
It adds that MPEG-2 equipment is now used by no more than 20% of its subscriber base.
However, in order to retain the loyalty of its customers, it has until now continued to maintain what is an obsolete format.
