The Czech regional multiplex (RS8) will both widen its coverage and add to its channel line-up on October 1.
According to the national transmission company Ceske Radiokomunikace (CRa), which operates the multiplex, it will cover the southern part of Prague and central Bohemia through a new transmitter in Cukrák. At present, 16 DVB-T transmitters cover 57% of the Czech population.
Meanwhile, the channel Regionální televize will join a line-up that already includes Noe TV, Sport 5, Slovak Sport 2, Ockem Expres, Mnam TV and Barrandov Muzika.
The Czech Republic is struggling to find capacity for stations that wish to be distributed terrestrially and RS8 is the only multiplex that still has free capacity.
