UPC remains the leading provider of pay-TV services in Hungary but remains closely challenged by Magyar Telekom and Digi.
Data published by the regulator NMHH shows that as of the end of Fevruary the Liberty Global-owned company claimed a 26.9% share of the market, irrespective of technology.
Telekom was in second place with 25.2% and Digi in third with 24.2%, with the next largest players Invitel and the pay-DTT platform MinDig TV Extra claiming 4.2% and 3.3% respectively.
The total number of cable and IPTV subscription in Hungary, based on data supplied by eight major market players, stood at 2,122,726 as of the end of February.
Of these, 1,167,593 were digital.
Meanwhile, the number of DTH subscriptions stood at 897,373, while MinDig TV Extra claimed 110,756 customers.
