The Warsaw Court of Appeal has upheld an appeal filed by the National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) against a ruling by the District Court that overturned a fine against the broadcaster TVN.
The regulator decided to punish TVN in July 2012 for breaking the law on radio and TV by broadcasting a programme that failed to protect minors.
However, the District Court then reversed the KRRiT’s decision.
Despite the Warsaw Court of Appeal now ruling in favour of the regulator, TVN’s original fine of PLN200,000 (€46.673) has been reduced to PLN150,000.
