The Polish Office of Electronic Communications (UKE) says that there has been huge interest expressed in the country’s upcoming eighth DTT multiplex MUX-8.
Wirtualne Media reports that no few than 22 entities took part in a consultation process that lasted from November 20 last year until January 9.
They included the transmission company Emitel; broadcasters TVP, TVN and Cyfrowy Polsat; Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) and the Institute of Telecommunications.
Nine individuals, whose names the UKE refused to disclose, also expressed an interest.
Their views will now be forwarded to the National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT), which will decide what type of channels will be distributed by the multiplex.
MUX-8 will carry a total of seven channels, three of which will be allocated to the public broadcaster TVP and the remaining four chosen in a competition.
No date for such a competition has yet been set.
