Dmitry Chernyshenko has been appointed the CEO of Gazprom Media Holding.
According to Itar-Tass, he will assume the position, effective for three years, on January 13.
Chernyshenko will replace Mikhail Lesin, who has resigned “due to family commitments”, and take charge of what is Russia’s largest media company.
In the TV sector, its interests include NTV, TNT, TV3, 2×2, Pyatnitsa and the DTH platform NTV-Plus.
Chernyshenko came to prominence as head of the Sochi Winter Olympic Games organising committee and was initially linked with Gazprom Media this summer.
