Netflix has signed a peering deal with Time Warner Cable following similar agreements with Comcast, AT&T, and Verizon.
Netflix will pay TWC for a direct connection to its network, so customers streaming Netflix content should get faster service and less buffering.
“We reached an agreement with Time Warner Cable in June and began the interconnection between our networks this month,” Netflix said in a statement.
However, Netflix continues to complain about such peering agreements and claims they should not be necessary under the net neutrality rules. The company argues with the big ISPs over who should bear the cost of the connection upgrades needed to deliver Netflix’s data-heavy content.
