Liberty Global has submitted concessions to the European Commission to secure approval for its proposed takeover of Dutch cable operator Ziggo.
A spokesman for Liberty Global confirmed the company was having a constructive dialogue with the competition authorities and expressed confidence the transaction will be closed in the second half of the year,
The EC has set a deadline of October 17 for taking a decision on the acquisition.
Late June, Liberty Global issued a public offer for all issued and outstanding ordinary shares of Ziggo not yet owned by the company.
