The Russian DTH platform Raduga TV may soon undergo a change of ownership.
Speaking to Itar-Tass and quoted by Telekomza, Anatoly Sosnovsky, a member of the board of directors of Raduga TV representing Continental Media, which holds a 50% stake in the platform, said that it is in talks with the telco Rostelecom about a possible sale.
Raduga TV is currently Russia’s fourth largest DTH platform, with an estimated 220,000 subscribers, while Rostelecom has 7.5 million pay-TV customers.
It lists Modern Times Group (MTG) as its other (50%) shareholder.
Contacted by Broadband TV News, Per Lorenz, head of group public relations at MTG, said: “We never comment about rumours and speculations in the market. Our focus is on resolving the current issues.”
