Ofcom has set out the fees payable by users of Britain’s terrestrial spectrum. Key multiplex holders will be charged an annual £188,000 for use of the DTT platform.
Included in the scheme are the operators of the six national multiplexes Mux 1 (BBC)l Mux 2 (Digital 3&4); Mux A (SDN); Mux B (BBC); Mux C (Arqiva) and Mux D (Arqiva).
The fees are based on the cost allocation methodology for licence classes as set out in the 2010 Strategic Review of
Spectrum Pricing.
Lesser fees will apply for the Northern Ireland and local multiplexes.
Ofcom said that of the 11 respondents stakeholders raised some general issues on the framework as well as specific issues on the application of the framework to DTT broadcasting, including seeking several points of clarification. They were however in general agreement with the policy.
