Slovak Telekom saw strong growth in its digital TV business in 2013, with the number of Magio TV subscribers increasing by 12.6% to 198,000.
This, according to the company, was in large part thanks to offering viewers the Champions League and Premier League.
It was also helped by the acquisition of the DIGI Slovakia business.
Slovak Telekom had revenues of €827.6 million in 2013, or 1.2% less than a year earlier, while its EBITDA was 4.6% lower at €337.1 million.
However, it regards a revenue fall of just over 1% as “an excellent result” as it was the lowest decline in five years.
Separately, E15 reports that the shareholders in Slovak Telekom have agreed on a privatisation plan following several months of negotiations.
It comes in the form of a memorandum that gives the government the opportunity to decide whether its share is sold directly or through the stock market.
Whatever method is used, the privatisation should be completed by the end of this year.
