Poland’s second largest cable operator Multimedia Polska had revenues of PLN63.3 million from its digital TV business in the first half, a 36% increase on the same period last year.
The digital TV business also accounted for 36% of total TV revenues, and while these were still dominated by analogue TV revenues from the latter fell by 3.9% year-on-year.
As of the end of June, the company had a total of over 1 million TV RGUs, of which 300,000 were for digital (cable) and IPTV, with the latter figure being 22% higher than a year earlier.
The TV RGU total was meanwhile 48,000 up on a year earlier, thanks largely to both acquisitions and new build.
Multimedia’s internet services meanwhile generated 30% of total revenues in the first half of this year.
During this period, the company invested a total of PLN95.8 million (€22.4 million), of which PLN85.5 million was towards building and modernizing networks and activating new services.
The remaining PLN10.3 million was spent on acquisitions.
Multimedia had sales revenues of PLN350.7 million in the first half, a 5.5% rise on a year earlier.
Although its EBITDA also rose – by 5.4% to PLN179.1 million, a net profit of PLN29.6 million was transformed into a loss of PLN1.7 million.
