Trace Group has secured a carriage agreement with Russia’s Beeline TV.
As a result, the channels Trace Sports HD and Trace Urban HD will become available on the pay-TV service, which currently has 902,000 subscribers in 36 of Russia’s largest cities.
This is Trace’s third agreement in Russia, following on from deals it has signed with the cable operator ER Telecom (Dom.ru) and the DTH platform Tricolor TV.
Commenting on the agreement, Marina Levochkina, head of TV content, Beeline TV, said “Beeline TV is constantly looking to add the best channels to its network and Trace Sports HD and Trace Urban HD are perfect complements to Beeline TV’s current selection of channels. High definition content is hugely popular throughout the Russian pay-TV market and the expansion of our HD portfolio with the addition of Trace’s content will be well received by our subscribers.”
Laurent Dumeau, CEO, Trace Sports, added “The addition of Trace Sports HD and Trace Urban HD to the Beeline TV platform is an exciting venture for both partners and will reinforce Trace’s already strong position in Russia. Our unique approach to sports entertainment programming will allow Beeline TV subscribers to get closer to their favourite sport celebrities. We will also be producing dedicated programmes featuring the athletes who are set to star at the 2014 Winter Olympics.”
