In the otherwise mature cable market of Sweden, Com Hem has added another 40,000 households year-on-year.
Numbers grew in the quarter by 30,000, Com Hem benefitting from its role as a service provider in open networks and developments in the LAN.
The operator delivered revenues of SEK1,123 million (€130 million) in the first quarter of 2013, compared to SEK 1,136 million.
EBITDA rose to SEK 544 million from SEK 532 million.
However, the number of unique subscribers during the period totaled 823,400, down from 827,800 the previous quarter. The number of digital television subscriptions increased to 613,300, compared with 611,700 in the fourth quarter of 2012.
“It is gratifying to see that we have stablised the number of digital TV customers, after a couple of quarters with reduced numbers. At the same time we have retained a stable position in the highly competitive broadband market,” says Tomas Franzén, CEO of Com Hem.
To meet the reduction of fixed telephony in favour of mobile launched Com Hem has launched Home Phone Mobile, an app for smart phones using a wireless network (WiFi) moves the fixed hemtelefonins advantages in the mobile phone.
The focus during the quarter has otherwise been on the development of Com Hem’s new TV solution, TiVo, which will be launched during the summer.
