The new Polish entertainment channel TVP Rozrywka has officially been launched today (April 15).
Offering both new and archival programming from the public broadcaster TVP, it will be distributed by the cable operators Vectra, Toya and Petrus (in digital but in some instances also analogue packages) from this month.
Talks are still ongoing with several others including UPC Polska, as well as the DTH platform nc+ and TVP expects to be available in over 500,000 homes by the end of the month, with a further one million being added to the total in May.
TVP Rozrywka has been allocated a slot on the third multiplex MUX-3, which currently reaches around 68% of the population, with the figure set to rise to over 90% when ASO is completed in July.
TVP Rozrywka joins a growing list of thematic channels operated by the Polish public broadcaster.
They are likely to be joined by the documentary-based TVP Dokument later this year and – further down the line – TVP ABC, aimed at kids.
