Tesco has secured a raft of popular cookery, comedy and drama shows for its Clubcard TV service following an agreement with BBC Worldwide.
Included in the package is content from celebrity chefs Antonio Carluccio, Ken Hom and Gary Rhodes; comedies Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps, Goodness Gracious Me and Alistair McGowan’s Big Impression; and dramas Carrie’s War and Blackpool.
Ad-supported Clubcard TV is available to Britain’s 16 million Clubcard members.
It sits alongside blinkbox and is supported by targeted advertising based on users’ shopping habits.
The service has several thousand TV episodes and movies following deals with Aardman, Endemol and Warner Bros.
