A new music-only channel named Stars.tv has made its debut in Poland.
Quoted by Wirtualne Media, its programming director Mariusz Wojnicki said the service, which is being distributed FTA via Hot Bird at 13 degrees East, has applied for a licence from the Czech regulator RRTV.
Until it receives one, it will operate on a test basis.
Stars.tv is owned by the TV, sound and film production/post-production company JBD SA and targets viewers aged 25-55 with music from the 60s to present day.
With its launch, there are now 10 music channels available in Poland, with the most popular being the disco polo-based Polo TV.
