The Russian national commercial broadcaster NTV has been valued at $1.4 billion (€1.06 billion), according to IFRS standards.
This, according to Kommersant, compares to the $1.8 billion capitalisation of its rival CTC Media.
It adds that NTV’s revenues in 2011 grew by 25% to R20.723 billion (€535.2 million), with those derived from advertising, sold by Gazprom Media’s sales house, growing by 23% to R16.245 billion. State support for NTV in 2011 stood at R699 million, or 3% more than a year earlier.
NTV’s operating profit stood at R5.337 billion (+14%) and the net profit R4.412 billion (+19%).
Separately, results reported by CTC Media show that its total operating revenues in the first quarter amounted to $191,120,000 (+15% year-o-year).
Its net income meanwhile rose by 43% to $32,622,000.
