The Romanian station Kanal D has received a licence from the country’s National Audiovisual Council (CNA) to broadcast in HD.
Mediafax reports that the National Telecommunications Company (SNR) will now allocate Kanal D experimental digital channels in Sibiu and the capital, Bucharest.
Kanal D is operated by Dogan Media International, a subsidiary of Turkey’s Dogan Yayin Holding (DYH), and is backed (25%) by the Ringier Media Group.
It made its debut in Romania in February 2007.
