Strategy & Technology (S&T) has created a dedicated business unit for hybrid systems. It will be fronted by Matt Whitfield, most recently technical director at Freeview Australia, where he was responsible for phase 2 of the introduction of the platform’s MHEG-5 EPG.
S&T has worked extensively on the deployment of interactive technology on Australia’s Freeview alongside local partner Magna Systems. “Our experience working with Whitfield on this complex project was first rate,” said S&T managing director, David Cutts. “When he returned to London he was the obvious choice for this role.”
The new business unit will provide solutions to support TV and existing users of the MHEG standard including the creation, maintenance and enhancement of interactive applications for EPGs, video on demand, and digital teletext, using MHEG, MHEG-IC, CI+ and HbbTV platforms.
