Hungary is about to become the latest country in Central and Eastern Europe to delay its ASO.
Currently set at December 31, 2011, the date will, according to HWSW, be put back by at least a year but quite possibly even to December 31, 2014.
The length of the delay will be determined by a vote on amendments to the New Media Act related to digital switchover.
Although Hungary has a DTT platform named MinDig TV and operated by Antenna Hungária up and running, the government has recently acknowledged that the digitisation process has begun to slow.
Both Romania and Bulgaria have already taken the controversial decision to put back their ASO dates.
