IPTV platform BT Vision is offering subscribers a new hybrid DTT receiver and PVR with additional features designed to ease power consumption.
The new Vision+ digital recorder is the second unit to be manufactured for BT Vision by Pace France. As per the rest of BT Vision’s set-top inventory the new black receiver runs the Microsoft Mediaroom middleware. It is said to use 12% less energy than its predecessors.
The 160 GB hard drive is capable of local storage for some 80 hours of content. It will also access on demand content from the BT library. A viewing card slot is included for the terrestrial reception of ESPN and potentially other premium services.
New customers can receive the box free-of-charge through until January 15, providing they subscribe to one of BT’s Value Packs, and represents a nominal saving of £45.
