Cable distribution of international kids channels in Czech and other foreign languages is not an infringement in Slovakia, according to Milos Mistrik, the president the country’s Council for Broadcasting and Retransmission.
Quoted in Zive, he added that this is a problem, as these channels are registered outside Slovakia and therefore do not have to conform to the Law on Broadcasting and Retransmission and the State Language Law.
Mistrik said he would like to see this changed so that all such channels targeting children aged less than 12 broadcast only in Slovak.
