News Corp Bulgarian exit not imminent

Bulgaria’s leading TV station bTV is unlikely to be sold by News Corp’s Balkan News Corporation before January 2010, according to its consultant Krassimir Guerov.

Quoted in Trud and Novinite, he said that he would bet €1 million a sale would not take place this month or in December. BTV has been on the market since 2008 and linked with a number of possible buyers.

However, the favourite has for some time been CME, which already has a presence in the country through the stations Pro.BG and Ring.BG.
