ZON Multimedia has grown triple play penetration to an all time high. An increase of 19.3 percentage points over the last 12 months has taken the number of subscribers taking a bundle of TV, telephony and broadband to 435,900, representing 26.9% of the installed base.
At the same time there are signs that recent losses of basic subscribers have begun to reverse, 3,300 net additions taking the subscriber levels to 1,594,000 as of September 30, 2009. Some 117,300 subscribers now take the top tier ‘Funtastic’ package; 326,600 subscribers now have an HD ZON Box, taking penetration levels up to 26.2% compared to just 6% 12 months ago.
Operating revenues increased by 7.5% to €605.6 million in the first nine months of 2009. EBITDA increased by 9% to €201 million, delivering a net profit of €41 million, though down on the €50.9m of 12 months ago. The company attributed the decrease to expenditure on terminal equipment required for its newly signed triple play customers.
