Subscribers to the Canal+ and CanalSat packages on the SFR IPTV network will now be able to enjoy the broadcaster’s on demand service through their televisions.
Canal+ is extending Canal+ and CanalSat à la demande to the ‘Neufbox’ at no extra cost to existing subscribers. The French pay-TV platform says that one subscriber in two that has used the service regards it as essential.
Around 80% of Canal’s output is available on demand in a window lasting one month after the original transmission. Included are major sporting events, dramas, series and movies both from Hollywood and France.
CanalSat’s catch-up service is divided into 20 genre specific catagories, providing content from channels including CineCinema, TCM, Planete, Voyage, Odyssee, Histoire, Ushuaia TV, Disney XD, Disney Channel, Playhouse Disney, Boomerang, Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, Canal J, Filles TV, Tuji, Game One, 13eme Rue, Jimmy, Comedue, MTV, MTV Base, MTV Pilse, MTV Idol, Eurosport and Eurosport 2.
