The Italian free-to-view DTH platform Tivù Sat expects to have 300,000 subscribers by the end of this year. By the end of next year, it should be received in 1 million homes.
The platform, which is jointly owned by Rai, Mediaset and La7 (Telecom Italia Media), broadcasts all the terrestrial channels and is aimed at viewers outside the DTT footprint.
Up until now, some 25,000 smart cards have been activated, with 800 to 1,000 being added daily, according to Tivù president Luca Balestrieri.
