The Polish national commercial broadcaster Polsat will launch two new thematic channels, one of which will be in HD, this September.
According to Wirtualne Media, Polsat Futbol will be on air for 12-14 hours daily and offer not only coverage of European football leagues but also programming produced by individual European clubs, among them Chelsea, Barcelona, Inter and Juventus.
Polsat HD will meanwhile transmit the same programming as Polsat, though up-converted to HD.
Both channels will be distributed by the DTH platform Cyfrowy Polsat, and talks with cable operators are reported to be ongoing.
