Romania’s RCS/RDS has officially launched its new channel Digi Sport.
According to Media Expres, the company, which is Romania’s largest cable operator and also owns one of its five DTH platforms, was granted a licence for Digi Sport by the National Audiovisual Council (CNA) on April 28.
This has now been confirmed, allowing the channel to launch right away.
Digi Sport will be distributed by cable and DTH in Romania and also has international clearance.
The costs of launching and operating the channel, which will allocate more than 50% of its schedule to football, will be €1.4 million this year, €1.8 million in 2010 and €1.5 million in 2011.
