Today, the German cable operator Kabel BW was the first to announce it will carry all seven HD channels from Sky Deutschland on its network.
With the move, Kabel BW will offer 12 HD channels. Five – Anixe HD, Luxe HD, HD Campus TV, Euro1080/HD and Deluxe Lounge HD – are available unencrypted to all subscribers.
The offer from Sky, which launches on July 4, will consist of Sky Cinema HD, Disney Cinemagic HD, Sky Sport HD, Eurosport HD, Discovery HD, National Geographic HD and History HD.
With its completely upgraded network, Kabel BW says it will continue to add more HD channels, including those that are unencrypted.
The operator will also roll out interactive and VOD services.
