Comstar-UTS has made an offer to buy Sinterre, one of Russia’s largest backbone operators.
According to Kommersant, the Sistema-backed company is prepared to pay its current owner Promsvyazkapitalu up to $850 million (€643.3 million) for a 100% stake in Sinterre.
Sinterre, which has a 68,000km fibre optic network and accounts for 20% of Russia’s internet traffic, is also attracting interest from the mobile operator MegaFon.
