Tim Hunt has been named as the new director of marketing communications at Freeview. He replaces Rob Farmer who is joining ITV as director of viewer marketing.
Most recently Hunt was marketing director at the ill-fated online TV venture Kangaroo. He brings a wealth of experience to the DTT platform including a spell as marketing director of Sky Italia. He was also the founder of Velvet Shark, an entertainment strategy consultancy whose clients include Disney, ITV, and Nickelodeon amongst others. Prior to this he was managing partner at creative ad agency St Luke’s where he led award-winning campaigns for BSkyB, COI and Eurostar .

The report states that this translates to 20% of global TV sets by 2016, up from only 6% at end-2010.
