Giga TV ceases broadcasts

The German games and geek channel Giga TV has ceased broadcasting over satellite, cable and IPTV platforms and now only maintains an online presence.

Giga TV has been broadcasting programmes on games and computers for over ten years. Originally, Giga was a window on the German NBC Europe channel, but from September 2005 it had its own dedicated channel.

For the past few months, its founder Utz Wasner has been trying to drum up additional funding, after the major shareholder Premiere decided to put no more money into the channel.
