France Telecom has grown subscriber take-up by a massive 72% over the last 12 months. As of September 30, 2008 the Orange-branded service had 1.746 million subscribers compared with 1.017 million just 12 months earlier. 211,000 customers were signed in the third quarter of 2008.
Much of the growth comes from the French IPTV platform, which recorded an increase of 64.4%, with Poland and Spain taking up the slack. Orange France had 1.603 million subscribers including 70,000 subscribers to its satellite offer launched in July.
There were also a total of 59,300 subscribers to the new Orange Foot pay-TV offer, launched on August 9.
However, the ongoing decline in fixed line telephony still led the Home Communications Service to reduced quarterly revenues of €5.711 billion, down 1.2%.
