Indonesia is to get a DVB-H service in the first half of 2008 following an agreement between Global Mediacom and Nokia Siemens Networks, the companies announced today. It is the biggest DVB-H agreement signed by Nokia Siemens Networks globally. Global Mediacom is the largest and only integrated media, broadcasting, entertainment and telecommunication group in Indonesia. Nokia Siemens Networks Indonesia is responsible for the end-to-end systems and services, which will include consulting, implementation of the entire broadcasting solution and network, systems integration and the relevant business applications. Global Mediacom is also in discussions with Nokia for Nokia to provide DVB-H integrated devices such as the Nokia N77, and work with Nokia Siemens Networks on joint marketing activities to ensure service adoption by Indonesian consumers. The first services will be launched in the Jabodetabek area in the first half of 2008.
