With the build-up of the network, French DTT is reaching more and more households. According to recent research, 22% of the population now watches digital terrestrial. The platform is closing in on DTH, with 26% still the most widely used platform. Twelve per cent of all French homes are connected to cable, 7% to IPTV and the remainder still relies on analogue. Two per cent say they have access to mobile TV and 40% to multiple platforms. The survey was carried out by Crédoc on behalf of Arcep and CTGI.

Connected TV Forecasts NEW REPORT. The number of TV sets connected to the Internet will reach 551 million by 2016 for the 40 countries covered in this report from Digital TV Research, up from 124 million at end-2010. The report states that this translates to 20% of global TV sets by 2016, up from only 6% at end-2010. Published in November 2011, this 83-page PDF report is the most geographically comprehensive to ever be published.
