Data published by the Portuguese regulator Anacom shows that the number of cable homes in the country rose by 17,000 in Q3 to reach 1.5 million, or 26.6% of all TV households. Although Madeira and Alentejo remained the regions with the highest and lowest cable penetration figures, the Lisbon area accounted for over 50% of all cable homes. The total number of DTH homes at the end of Q3 meanwhile stood at 458,000, or 2.9% more than the previous quarter and 13.7% up year-on-year. The highest number of subscribers to DTH services was found in the northern and central regions of Portugal.
