ZenithOptimedia predicts that growth in ad spend in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) will remain comfortably in double figures for at least the next two years. However, it will fall slightly, from 16.9% (2007 v 06) to 15.6% (2009 v 08). By 2009 it should amount to $35.998 billion (€26.594 billion), well ahead of Latin America ($24.242 billion) but still only a third of that posted by Western Europe ($117.877 billion). Russia is expected to be the fourth fastest-growing ad market in the world between 2006-9, the projected rate of 108.3% only bettered by UAE, Egypt and Qatar. Four other regional countries – Ukraine, Moldova, Romania and Belarus – will occupy the fifth to eighth spots respectively.
