Eutelsat confirmed it is interested in acquiring Satmex, the Mexican satellite operator currently up for sale. Such acquisition would give the operator a secondary entry-point into Latin America, besides its Brazillian subsidary and a joint venture with Hispasat.
In a statement the Paris-based operator said it has “submitted an offer together with two Mexican partners (Miguel Aleman Group and Clemente Serna Group) for 100 per cent ownership of the Mexican satellite operator Satelites Mexicanos (SatMex)”, no details regarding the offer’s content have yet been disclosed.
