International news channel France 24 made its debut today on parts of the Italian DTT network. Alain de Pouzilhac, chairman of the management board of France 24, will sign an agreement authorising distribution of the French version of the channel, which will be distributed by the broadcaster Telecentro Toscana.
As of midnight on June 6, 56% of Italians with a DTT decoder will be able to receive the channel. It will be broadcast in the main urban areas (excluding Sicily and Sardinia) and reach approximately 2.6 million households.
The French international news channel is already available in Italy on satellite via Sky Italia (4 million households) and free to air on Hotbird and Astra 1.
