ANGA CABLE – Cologne. Dutch cablenet Casema is to introduce an HD compatible digital video recorder from Scientific-Atlanta. Casema has chosen the Explorer 8455 DVB unit, as part of the latest phase in a project between the two companies, which also includes the use of S-A digital headends and associated control systems and Cisco 7600 Series router. Combined with systems integration services, Casema will later use the technologies for the launch of its video-on-demand platform.
Along with Multikabel and Essent Kabelcom, Casema has previously offered HD customers a Samsung set-top. The official merger of the three companies is expected shortly.
